Tire the Americas introduced a new tire, the Continental ProContact with Eco Plus Technology at last week’s 2010 Gold Dealer meeting in the Bahamas. The tire will replace the non-OE sizes of the ContiProContact Touring tire. Tg-F Polymers are temperature-activated polymers that boost bonding within a tire’s compound for increased fuel efficiency and better treadlife. According to Joe Maher, CTA product planning representative, “Fuel efficiency can easily be gained by compromising wet grip and lowering mileage expectations,” but the ProContact with Eco Plus achieves a minimization of those trade-offs, he said. The tire will be available on May 15th in 22 sizes, from 15 inches to 18 inches in diameter. The new ProContact with Eco Plus is designed with low rolling resistance and high-energy efficiency. The tire is engineered with two key advanced technologies, Tg-F Polymers and +Silane additives.
